Thanks for the advise about mobi file, maybe wouldn't have thought of that. I'll keep looking.
Then there are the ones listed as physical books, that I thought was a mistake at first, but it doesn't look that way anymore.
This is why didn't join secret santa before, I was afraid that international gifting would be an issue and I didn't even think about shipping physical books.

Do people have multiple secret admires? When I first got my secret person I checked out what they had on their wish list so I could see what they wanted. I went back today to start gifting but now many things they wanted have been purchased already. Now what?

That way the item is no longer listed for others browsing the wishlist. Then you have time to purchase and send to your own convenience.

At these events there so many other "elves" who buy books for other people too, not just the one they are "assigned" with

I looked at other people's wishlists and did see books marked purchased. My own looks the same as when I first made it.
HI K, You can't see what people bought on your own list- THat way it'll be a surprise. Others can see what gifts are already bought for you, but you cant

Sometimes people forget to mark them so it can definitely be helpful to clean up the list from your end as well
Elfster is not the easiest website ever created. I had to do a password recovery and now that I’m in I have no wish list. I’ve tried clicking in from links in these threads, and I can’t get in and I’ve tried clicking links in emails and I get an error that the links are expired. I can’t even get into my match. I’m really struggling here

My view keeps switching back and forth between the old and the new, and I can't figure out if there's any rhyme or reason to it!!! Does anyone know? I much prefer the original format

I just ended up on an old version but I can't figure out what I did to get there. LOL

I usually send a GC with a note about which book I wanted to buy with it. (It's kinda fun trying to navigate Amazon in a different language. It's like solving a puzzle :)

Heather K.....what a mess Amazon was not helpful and said they are 2 different companies. I have to buy for the .ca store and then call tech support to have the books migrated to my .com account. I will give it a try tonight and report back.

Heather K........well the solution from Amazon.com didn't work. I logged into my account with the Amazon.ca site and it will not allow a US user to purchase kindle books. in the end the only thing I could do was buy myself a single paperback book and shulip it to myself in the US. I have done this gift exchange for years and have enjoyed it. I might take a break after this year and this gift card mess......I know you work like crazy to set this up. Just crazy how difficult Amazon can be on what should be a simple thing!!!!

It's just really odd that they wouldn't just convert the gift card for you. I haven't heard of that issue.
