I read the book in 2015. The book is about a boy who has criminal charges and ends up going to this island for like a reforming thing? They build him a cabin, food, and leave him there going back to check on him in a few days. He ends up burning the cabin down along with all the food, then he ends up seeing a white bear and it attacks him.
