oıɔoɹ/rocio♥ (lalis26) Butterfly Paradise
by: Rocio Sanchez
Word count: 351

I opened my eyes. Wow, I thought. It's beautiful. Indeed it was. It was the butterfly paradise.
Up above me were the most peculiar butterflies I had ever seen in my life. Orange, brown, even pink. I even thought I saw a glimpse of a purple one with black polka dots.

I stared in awe as the butterflies fluttered around me. I started dancing around in circles, laughing histerically. I twirled and twirled, enjoying every second of it. The butterflies smiled, happy to at last meet someone who understood their beauty.

As I twirled, I felt a sudden lightens in me. I glanced down and, to my amazement, I saw the ground at about 2 and a half feet below me. I gasped, but continued laughing; this was so fun. I didn't fully understand the whole sense of this, it felt almost like magic.

"Maggie... Maggie..." I heard in the distance. Where the leaves seaking to me? Whispering their my name with their ever-lasting breath?

"Maggie." Stronger now, too close.

"Maggie!"

I bolted upright and felt a sharp pain in my head. I lifted my hand to rub my forehead and *looked around, frowning. Where was I? Where were the butterflies?! Had it just been a dream? So wonderful, yet only living in my mind? Just another sweet dream produced by my *no boundary imagination?

"Hey! Maggie!" I turned towards the voice, and as my eys foucused I saw Mely, my childhood cousin, standing in the doorway. But, how could she be here? She only came to visit in holidays.

Just then, I caught sight of her little brother, Michael, peeking in through the doorway and it all rushed back to me in a floodful of memories. Of course! It was Christmas!

Then, a sudden sadness overtook me; it had just been a dream. The magical butterflies existed only in my imagination. But, there was no time for that now, I thought as I stood up from my bed and raced down the stairs. I would worry about it later. It was Christmas now and it was time to have fun!
