Prosecutors are a strange breed. They want a sure win, and last minute changes can lead to reasonable doubt. I get where he's coming from but there are families who need justice. Max's arguments were solid enough to investigate even if he continues with the current charges. He can bring additional charges later when he prosecutes the partner, if they find one.
They were definitely persuasive for me but I agree with you, Sharon. It’s a sticky path with the prosecutor in the middle of a trial. There was room for compromise here but I understand their unease. It wasn’t that they didn’t believe her. They just wanted to get the slam dunk conviction of a murderer.
