In the book the guy is obsessed with women and sex but cannot get laid.

He has a brother who is infinitely cooler than him and is about to get married.

I'm pretty sure he hires a prostitute at some point.

He goes on a failed trip to like Europe I think???

It gets to the point where he only needs to see a hot woman to uhh get off.
