It has been over five years since I read this book so I can't remember any exact details for names or anything. I believe the main character was quite a popular girl at her high school, and its possible she might have ran away from home before which is why no one was looking for her as they thought she had just run away again.

She was walking along a road, and got hit by a car, her body is thrown into the bushes. She IS alive, but ever time she loses consciousness (which is very often as she's badly hurt), she can move around as like a spirit. No one can see her as a spirit except for this one guy at her school who is definitely not very popular. He tries to help people realise she's missing and needs help, as well as they try to figure out where she is (she knows she's lying on the ground injured, but not where).

She does regain consciousness a few times, and I vaguely remember a scene where she drags her bag over to her or something to pull a sweater on as she is very cold. I think she still has her phone, but there is no reception.
