Yes that was the schedule. I think it might be on the nominations page for this read. I also think I sent it out as a PM to the entire book club. I'm looking forward to this read, :)

So far the book seems to be easy to read but conveying a lot of information. I would suggest you look in Wikipedia at the architectural details described in chapter 1 of the Church of Gesù and St. Mary Major. Most of them you will find pictured.

I just read the Introduction, and not only is it easy to read, but quite pleasurable. Lev's prose moves quite nicely, and is precise and charming. I give her good marks for her prose. I think the read is going to be both insightful and enjoyable.

Elizabeth Lev is on YouTube in a number of talks. I found this TED talk on the Vatican Museums is very interesting:

That is an enlightening TED talk despite its frantic delivery. Perhaps it will help me in better understanding what a pagan Egyptian obelisk is doing in the center of St. Peter Square.

I just looked that up Galicius. Apparently it marks the spot where St. Peter died. Here’s everything you may want to know about that Obelisk:

Catherine | 47 comments I wasn’t sure I would finish this book but am so glad I did. Very inspiring and illuminating to a difficult time in Catholic history. Didn’t realize Lev is the daughter of Mary Ann Glendon.
