SOLVED. Middle grade/YA book Thriller-ish follows a girl whose adopts/fosters a young girl who seemingly starts ruining/stealing the original girl's life. [s]

I vaguely remember reading this book in 7th or 8th grade (2000-2002ish). I remember there was an original daughter and a new adopted daughter. The adopted daughter seemed to idolize the biological daughter, but then seemingly gaslights the biological daughter. The only other character that seems suspicious of the adopted daughter is the dog that doesn’t like her, and the dog is found killed later (probably by the adopted daughter). I also remember the biological daughter feeling drawn to sew a pink dress for some occasion (which she found odd Bc she would normally never wear pink), but ended up that she made it for the adopted sister without realizing it. By the end of things I think the adoptive sister was a witch or something? Please help, haha.

Glad I could help. Loved Lois Duncan growing up, she had some great creepy books.
