Read this book to my daughter in the late 1980s to early 1990s. Jessie is ill and bed ridden. She is miserable because she can't go out and play. Her mother is trying to console her and keep her occupied. All of the mother's attempts to please her daughter are rejected. Finally in desperation, Jessie screams, No, No, No! But the books lists it like this, "No, No, No, said Jessie." It is a line my daughter's mother and I use with her all...of...the...time. Neither of us can remember the title of this book.

And now my daughter is about to have her first child, a girl, and would love to read it to her.
