Glad you like them! I must say this one seemed cute when I came up with it, but right now I don't seem to have the right books for either version!

Wayne wrote: "In my selection, the Agatha Christie and the Georges Simenon could also easily fit in the first category, but I used the definition of another group which categorise Classic as written before the y..."
The prior to 2000 definition works for me as well. I seem to have 7 books for either version. December may be an interesting rreading month!

I considered doing the other version, but focused on ploughing ahead with my crime fiction series. I have some John le Carre lined up, but didn't want such "heavy" reading for summer.

Please will you let me know which versions of the Serial Killer challenged you liked this year to plan for 2022?
There's this version with genres (which could become settings, etc), but the structure is important.
We did themed ones for Q2 and Q3.
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
And we did the one with levels in Q1. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Did you enjoy any format more than another? Are all of these fine?
Any other ideas for the Series challenge? A nice idea from another Group?

Hi Caroline, I enjoyed the Q3 and Q4 challenges most. I especially like the Q4 genre challenge as it gives you flexibility to read books that also complete other challenges close to year end. I didn’t participate in the Q1 challenge and it looks difficult, I prefer the other formats.

Well done, Wayne!
For Q1 2022 I'm contemplating something similar based either on settings (e.g. school, space, farm, etc) or eras (e.g. medieval Europe, classic Greece, etc). If anybody has any preferences or another option, let me know.

Thanks Caroline. Continents will be great.

Thanks Wayne.
Kay Scarpetta series by Patricia Cornwell, highly recommended. The series is similar to books written by Kathy Reichs. Both are about crime fighting doctors/coroners/anthropologists. Crime thrillers with a medical aspect to it.
Gabriel Allon series by Daniel Silva, I love this series and wish it would never end. Gabriel Allon is a former Israeli spy and art restorer who are always pulled back into spying and solving crises. Spy thrillers with an art aspect to it with some history in some books. Must read in order.
Nic Costa series by Dawid Hewson, recommend. Police thrillers set in Rome with some history included. I enjoy it, not as good as Patricia Cornwell but not bad. Always interesting cases.
Hidden legacies by Ilona Andrews. I love this series, I would describe it as Fantasy romance. Good balance between the fantasy and romance with good world building and characters. One of the main characters is a PI and the book plots are about cases to solve with the romance a secondary plot line. It is not a soppy love story series.
Cunning devil is the 1st book I read by this author. I enjoyed it, I would say urban fantasy. I plan to read more of the series.
Wicked wish, is a maybe, not sure whether I will continue with the series.
The other books are a no. The Captain Chase book 1 ends on a cliffhanger, which I dislike.

Gabriel Allon gets a vote from me as well. I should go back to Nic Costa, I enjoyed the first one in the series.
Well done, Marlese!
