Hunting, hunting and there's a treasure trove of titles out now plus the ones we've missed from years past. So, in the spirit of the Halloween Thing, Fall and all that's orange and purple, we start posting titles? No need to rush a pick as this is some serious stuff, PI's! LOL ;-)

Just started looking but this is one that seems to have many boxes ticked plus we haven't read/discussed her books lately. The Ghost and Mrs. Mewer (Paws and Claws Mystery, #2) by Krista Davis

The Ghost and Mrs. Mewer (A Paws & Claws Mystery) – Dec. 2014 by Krista Davis

Okay, back to the haunt.

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments My book club read that when it first came out. It’s really good but I probably wouldn’t reread it.
I’ll look for a few to suggest.

Okay, we're still on the hunt for something new and good. :-)

Crypt Suzette (A Five-Ingredient Mystery Book 6) by Maya Corrigan Fine rating, new bookstore backdrop, seems fall infused. Still hunting and haunting. ;-)

Halloween Hayride Murder (Small Town Minnesota #1) by Linnea West Good ratings, autumny, first in series. Available in Kindle and paperback. Still haunting. :-)

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments The 5 ingredient mystery Halloween book has been on my list since last year. It's a really good series and it comes with recipes!
I almost suggested the 2nd book because the cover seemed like what we were looking for!

PM, love it when a nom is on a PI's list! Do we have two for Crypt Suzette so far? I'd be up for either of those two but 5 Ingredient does sound good. Will see what the other PI's have to say.

Pumpkin, pumpkin everywhere. Thankfully! for all the ugh news out there--

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments This series is set in a bookstore/cafe. It's an older book so it should be easy to find at the library. I read the first book in the series and this is #3 but it works well with our October theme! Death by Pumpkin Spice (Bookstore Cafe Mystery, #3) by Alex Erickson

Yes, I noted the bookstore setting which I like and also the October thing. Two +'s for us's. lol

I have two thoughts. Leslie Meier, whom we've read before and liked, Wicked Witch Murder. Also, some years ago, we read a book by Cleo Coyle, whose books are set in a coffee shop in NYC. Ms Coyle sent me (and perhaps others) a copy of her next book, and also joined the discussion. Latte Trouble is set in the fall, during Fall Fashion week in NYC.

Cleo Coyle is a fine author who loves her fans. When I was on FB, I was in her group and received one of her signed book galleys. She's also great with recipes and content.

I've read both books and I think we discussed W W Murder in The Parlor a while back. I'm out on whether I want to read either again. Maybe LM if she's not gone too political yet. Towards the end of her still ongoing series, she got too political. At least for my reading tastes, anyway. But whatever The Parlor majority wants, we'll do. :-)

Any more titles to give us more choices? Either ways, how 'bout we select in day or two? I'm game.

I am good with Crypt Suzette. That makes three of us, I think. I can get it from Hoopla.

Okay, thanks, Pghfan, PugMom. Never read this author that I can recall. Something new all way 'round. I'll get on getting my copy.

Order is in. Treating moi to an old-fashioned paperback. I've been "Kindling" more lately but just prefer the feel of a book esp. when new w/paper, ink fragrance and colorful cover art. Wild times, extravagant spending. Now I need a fireplace with burning logs, a warm Grand Marnier and fall temps 10 degrees cooler. Autumn leaves would be nice. I don't ask for much? lol

I've posted the author and invited her to pop in and say, "Hi" if her schedule permits. I'll let you know if and what she replies. We haven't had an author visit The Parlor in a while so I thought it might add another layer of atmosphere to the read and discuss.

Anyone want to host October's read? If so, just say the word. :-)

PI's, I've invited Mr. Joe Cosentino to stop by and chat with us as he loves cozies by the fireside like we do. He's an author and maybe he'll share some of his titles with us.

I have one of this books but did not read it yet. I wouldn't mind reading his work with the group. Maybe sometime next year after the holidays are over.
