Happy Thursday, everyone! I hope your week is going well and your weekend plans are full of relaxing and reading. I thought we could check in on those goals as we move into the weekend.

A few questions for you:
What challenges and distractions have you faced this read-a-thon?
What is your favorite book so far?
How's your team and individual challenges going?
What have you accomplished so far in this read-a-thon?
What are your goals for the remainder of the read-a-thon?

Now is also a great time to go in and update your Individual Tracking and the Community Spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

Challenges - I signed up as a team captain as well as doing quizzes for the Readathon and suggestions for the 2022 selection - I probably won't do all that again at the same time!

Favorite book so far - The Mountains Sing - story of Vietnam from the point of view of women who had to live through wars and internal strife. Although much of it is sad, there is a determination and stress on family that is uplifting. I am glad I did it on audio to hear the Vietnamese words and phrases that are sprinkled through the book.

My team is doing well and is enthusiastic - Yay, Narnia! I haven't really looked at the individual challenge since the beginning, will go back and check it our.

I have finished 4 books but am now in a couple longer ones, so not sure how I will finish. I hope to finish at least 2 more books.

Sherri Harris | 1502 comments I want to thank all the moderators for the great job they are doing. There is a lot going on in the group right now & you all are spot on.

What challenges and distractions have you faced this read-a-thon? I haven't mentioned this but we are getting our house ready to put on the market 9/25. We started two weeks ago cleaning out & packing a room a day. We have been out to the construction site once this week & that is an hour south of where we live.
What is your favorite book so far? I think it will be my current read The Obelisk Gate. I have slowed down a lot reading it because I read The Fifth Season in 2019. So I spend a lot of time trying to remember the characters & what happened.
How's your team and individual challenges going? I'm on Narnia. Thank You Robin for your great leadership. Our team is going great.
When I finish my current read I will finish my individual challenge.
What have you accomplished so far in this read-a-thon? I have completed two books.
What are your goals for the remainder of the read-a-thon? I want to finish four books. I haven't given up that goal. I think it's doable.

What is your favorite book so far? The Royals Next Door was fun and a very fast read.

How's your team and individual challenges going? Great! Individual is done, team is doing really well.

What have you accomplished so far in this read-a-thon? Finished 3 books, made time to read instead of watching TV.

What are your goals for the remainder of the read-a-thon? Finish 3 more, though that is a stretch goal.

L Y N N (book_music_lvr) What challenges and distractions have you faced this read-a-thon?
Work! Working out! Ugh! 😂 I guess just my routine workday schedule! But this weekend...is mine! LOL

I really need to visit the Daily Game challenges...

What is your favorite book so far?
Love Story, Elsewhere, Home, and Of Mice and Men. (Rarely am I ever able to select just ONE! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How are your team and individual challenges going?
Team Earthsea is plugging right along. As far as I know we've not heard from one member, but that is typical for my experience with past read-a-thons! 😁

I submitted my raffle entry on September 14th and although there are many more books I could and/or would really like to read to fit individual prompts, I'm concentrating on books to help my team!

What have you accomplished so far in this read-a-thon?
I have read 5 books thus far with another 5 in progress, two of which are middle-grade books which should read super fast. I completed my raffle entry.

What are your goals for the remainder of the read-a-thon?
Finish those 5 books and then add any others that might help the team complete a monster or monsters!

What challenges and distractions have you faced this read-a-thon?
Life? I've been busier than I would like to be, and it's been challenging to find time to read.

What is your favorite book so far?
I listened to Illuminae on audio (reread, since I read it for the first time last year), and it was so good on audio. I'm also in the middle of The Guncle and it's hilarious.

How's your team and individual challenges going?
Team challenge is going well! We are knocking down monsters! I opted out of the Individual Challenge this time.

What have you accomplished so far in this read-a-thon?
Two books complete... not great, but done.

What are your goals for the remainder of the read-a-thon?
I'd like to finish two more books!

Kendra | 2115 comments What challenges and distractions have you faced this read-a-thon?
Just the usual distractions of life, with a side of family drama.

What is your favorite book so far?
The Magic Fish this was so sweet and lovely and the artwork was wonderful.

How's your team and individual challenges going?
Great. My team has killed at least 2 of everything (other than a sphinx) and I've got at least 1 of each castle part for my individual challenge. I could enter for the raffle already, but I'm going to wait and see just how many points I can get.

What have you accomplished so far in this read-a-thon?
8 books finished (2 started before the challenge, 2 short books, 2 graphic novels, 2 quick reads) so far and I'm getting in at least 300 pages a day (well not counting the one day) which was my goal.

What are your goals for the remainder of the read-a-thon?
Keep reading over 300 pages a day.

°~Amy~° (amybooksit) What challenges and distractions have you faced this read-a-thon?
My family suffered a huge loss on Friday night and that has thrown me off completely. It's nice to have the readathon to focus on when I get overwhelmed. I may not be fully processing what I am reading but the routine of holding a book, or listening to one while I fall asleep has helped immensely. Also, on the positive side, when I am stressed, I buy pets. I bought 12 baby chickens today. They are adorable.

What is your favorite book so far?
I read a Dean Koontz novella today The Moonlit Mind. I forgot how much I used to enjoy his work. I may continue with the series at some point.

How's your team and individual challenges going?
They are going ok. I am very fortunate that I spent all day Thursday and Friday pulling every 100-180 page book that I own (and those I could borrow from the library). I made a list and I am just working from one to the next.

What have you accomplished so far in this read-a-thon?
I made the 1000 points required for the individual challenge. I've read 5 novellas and short story collections.

What are your goals for the remainder of the read-a-thon?
Just to keep reading these short books and plugging them in where they go. I'd like to read at least one a day. We will see how that goes.

How's your team and individual challenges going? Team is doing great and I seem to still be on track.
What have you accomplished so far in this read-a-thon? I read two books for the challenge. These next two books I'm not sure I can fit n the challenge. I've read over 500 pages so that's good for me at this point in the week.
What are your goals for the remainder of the read-a-thon? I'd like to finish two more books and hope to count one of them on the challenge
