Rachel Edwards (scotlandrachel) | 3 comments I remember a young adult book I read in 1990 which I bought from a library clearance sale. It was about a girl called Libby. Her mother re-marries and she and her step-family go on a tour around Europe one summer. I know she visited the catacombs in Paris, and learned about Esperanto.

I had thought the book was set in the 1930s but it could be any time between the 1930s and 1960s. I think the girl was called Libby but I've googled extensively and not found anything!

My copy was hardcover and had Libby, with blonde hair and a dress on the cover.

Mai | 1280 comments Maybe Libby's Step-Family by Shirley Simon? It came up searching Worldcat.org

Three girls brought together by a Second marriage begin to know and like each other better during a summer in Europe.

You can (sort of) see the cover here: https://www.amazon.com/Libbys-step-fa...

Mai | 1280 comments I'm glad this was the right book!
Worldcat.org is very useful! The advanced search lets you choose "juvenile" or "not juvenile" which is very useful when searching for children or YA books. You can also select a range of years.
