TART Challenge - Round 4 - Rainbow Dash (11)
Thanks Liz!Ok, I have updated my favourites now as did a little check and so all but one of them are available on Ku. Tried to have a mix 😊
In message 27 you fill find a list of tasks that need team decisions and the decisions we made. The sole exception is the monthly challenge task because until it is assigned we don't know which month to look to.

Oh yeah I know that feel. Hope you have one soon and able to get away somewhere nice to relax 😊
I'm a teaching assistant, but yeah love supporting and see students growth being able to help is great.
Michaele wrote: "How old are your students? I teach at a community college, love it most days :)"Im at a secondary school, between 11 and 16 year olds. Also a SEMH school, so not mainstream and small classes.
That sounds lovely! What do you teach?
Michaele wrote: "U.S. History."Is it still online teaching these days or has colleges n schools returned to normal routine? You dont wear masks in US, right?

After this year, will you be able to be a teacher on your own? How does that work?

Oh no, I'm no interested in being a teacher. But technically if I were to do a course alongside current role, then yeah could possibly teach in next year if wanted too.

I am back in the classroom - I have mixed feelings about it, I'm excited to see students again and I find teaching in-person so much more rewarding, but I don't think we should be endangering our students when the numbers are so bad here. And the mask thing varies by state and in Utah parents fought hard so that the schools CAN'T have mask mandates. I don't really get what these parents are thinking. Anyway, that basically means students decide for themselves if they want to wear masks. About half did at first, but the number is going down.

Ohh... Covid is still not a fully understood disease and even if vaccinated, its not a 100% guarantee. Masks and social distancing do matter.
But..in my state , they have recently decreed that from November onwards schools can open and function, even for kids. I am reluctant to send my child as kids are not yet vaccinated in India. Numbers are still pretty high in my state compared to rest of the country... 🤷♀️

Okay. I just thought you were planning to be a teacher. 🙂
Michaele wrote: "I don't really get what these parents are thinking. Anyway, that basically means students decide for themselves if they want to wear masks. Going out of their way to put their kids at risk doesn't make any sense to me...
(And that is what the protests to 'Let Our Kids Breathe' really boil down to - knowingly putting the kids at risk.😒🤬)
Just had to jump in and add my two cents. 😊

But I see US President and staff with masks! So... its a mixed msg from there.
The president and White House staff wear masks because that is the behavior they (and the scientists) believe we all should be doing. They are trying to set a positive example. There were mixed messages last year with the prior administration and the doctors/scientists saying or doing different things.

But under normal circumstances we have mask requirement in schools, Supermarket and all other places i can think of at the moment and also distance regulations.
Liz wrote: ".But under normal circumstances we have mask requirement in schools, Supermarket and all other places i can think of at the moment and also distance regulations."Yes. Thats the least anyone can do to protect themselves and others.
'Lateral Thinkers' sound great 😄. Every community has these sort of crazies among them.
Roger - president of NBR United - wrote: "First task at 6 PM EST today."Ugh! I dont like MountainKat's EST. It will be around 3.30 am for me in India. 🙁
Shall check in as soon as I am up though.
Laura wrote: "Its 11pm for me so i will probably check in before sleep 😊"its midnight for me so its ok i have plenty of time to check in before bett
MountainKat wrote: "Michaele wrote: "I don't really get what these parents are thinking. Anyway, that basically means students decide for themselves if they want to wear masks. I have a friend who's son was in the ICU in the children's hospital for a brain surgery and they were surrounded by kids with covid. It's awful.
During the week i try to sleep around midnight, but weekends my sleep schedule is chaos so i ahould be around most the time when call. Unless at work of course 😂
I was hoping September as that let me read one of my remaing sh books. But as we have three European members we may not find until tomorrow morning in the US.
I'd prefer October or November, but am happy to go majority. I have plenty christmas read Options for December and some new release for September 😊
Have to reread the task but I am under the impression we don't have to pick a year but any book published in the month we choose.
Roger - president of NBR United - wrote: "Have to reread the task but I am under the impression we don't have to pick a year but any book published in the month we choose."Oh yeah, I just reread its only the month. Thanks 😊
0. Each teammate reads a book initially published in a fall month, teams decide which month. As a team select a fall month. Fall this year is from September 22 through December 21 - so you may select September, October, November or December, then everyone reads a book initially published in the selected month of any year. For this task, use the initial publication date. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page - use it! Otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the postqualification. Please include the selected month in your completion posts.
so we have 1 vote for September ; 1 vote for December and 1 for October or November.I vote for
Roger do you want to read Gone But Not Forgotten for this task becuase you said it was on of your SH picks? if that is the Case i be ok with September as well
