Ellie | 6 comments Hii I want to read the throne of glass series but I don’t know in which order to read the books. Can someone help me? Thanks :)

Shelby Melliere | 2 comments Hey! I found this way to be the best:

Assassin's Blade
Throne of Glass
Crown of Midnight
Heir of Fire
Queen Of Shadows

Empire of Storms/Tower of Dawn (tandem read. Both books happen at the same time chronologically and Tower of Dawn is about 1 main person so you don't want to read the cliffhanger of Empire of Storms and then have to read a whole book before you get to the last book.)

Lastly, Kingdom of Ash

DarknessLighttt | 48 comments I read it this way: The Assassin's Blade, Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, Empire of Storms, Tower of Dawn, Kingdom of Ash because the action is chronological

brielle rosario :) (brirosario6) | 23 comments the order I read it in was Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, The Assassin’s Blade, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, Empire of Storms, Tower of Dawn, and then Kingdom of Ash. I’ve heard people say to read TAB first, but honestly you don’t really know the characters that well and it would be kind of confusing.

Karsyn | 611 comments I asked someone on tumblr before I started reading the series, and this was their recommendation, and I loved this order my first time reading!

1. Throne of Glass
2. Crown of Midnight
3. Assassin's Blade (prequel novellas)
4. Heir of Fire (there is a bonus scene floating around from this one as well!)
5.. Queen of Shadows
6. Empire of Storms
7. Tower of Dawn
8. Kingdom of Ash

Assassin's Blade can definitely be read first, and a lot of people recommend that, but I actually really enjoyed reading it after Queen of Shadows! Getting just little snippets of the main characters backstory in the first two novels is really wonderful and keeps you wanting to know more, and then in the third book you're introduced to new characters and learn even more, but having those prequel novellas to offer pretty much the full backstory BEFORE meeting the new people is reeeeaallly fun! Also having TOD between EOS and KOA (while frustrating because of the cliffhanger) was really great to keep my excitement up for getting to the final book. I definitely recommend this reading order! It keeps some things secret to be revealed at a later time, piquing your interest when it's alluded to before finally diving into the details. (However, if you prefer a more chronological reading experience, then definitely best to read Assassin's Blade first, and TOD in tandem with EOS.) Enjoy!!
