Just spent another long day driving to London to finish clearing out Mom's old apartment. Got it done! My son and husband came to help my brother and I this time. Am so tired and a little stiff from standing and carrying all day.
Gustaf wrote: "I've almost finished my first book and it was... interesting."You are not enjoying it?
Gustaf wrote: "I enjoyed it more towards the end. It felt like it had more steamthan plot in the beginning."
I am not fond of books that don't have a good plot. I had my eye on it but maybe will forego it for now
I am reading book two in The Magpie Lord I have come the collusion I have not read this series even though it says I did. I think either I read another of the authors books and said I read the wrong one or I am really getting forgetful. Which could be because it has been years. You Gustaf was just a child when it said I read them. 2014.
Gustaf wrote: "Yes! 😍"I can't wait! Now I know how to gift people! I am quite excited. I was only able to gift five people before because I had their amazon email now I can just do it willy nilly!
We get an extra hour of sleep tonight. Time change!!! I will say though I wish they did away with it. So is every one happy for the extra hour?

A perfect end to the series, but I really hope there is a spin-off series. Would love to read more of Will and Kim missions as agents.
I am reading book three now on The Magpie LordLoving the series. I know we didn't need them but love them anyway

Review:
I have to be honest with you all, in the beginning I didn't know what to do with this book. It felt like they never left the bedroom. And while I enjoy steam in my romance books I had a hard time finding a plot within all the steam. But it got better the more I read. I'm usually not one for historical romances, but as far as this one went it was a pretty solid read.

Review:
Okay so I never thought this would happen but K.J. Charles managed to write another historical that I absolutely loved.
This was so so so good. The mystery was so interesting and Will and Kim were such interesting, complex characters.
I can't wait to read the other two books, which is quite an accomplishment from the author since I really, really don't do historicals if I don't have to.
Gustaf wrote: "I'm honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed Slippery Creatures."I know! I forgot how good K.J. Charles is as an author. I will read the series you just finished as soon as I am done with book three. I cannot believe I have read three historicals and working on my fourth in the last two days
Gustaf wrote: "I went and bought the other two books in the series. Already started book 2."I bought book one this morning
DeeNeez wrote: "I love how she has their dialog and POVs so spot on with the time era."True. I love the way she wrote Jenny Saint in this past book. Even though she was secondary character she was three dimensional. A great character!
Gustaf wrote: "I just finished the last Merrychurch Mysteries book and I'm so sad it's over."No more coming?
Wende wrote: "Gustaf wrote: "I just finished the last Merrychurch Mysteries book and I'm so sad it's over."No more coming?"
I'm pretty sure it was meant to be a three book series. But there's a secondary character introduced in book 2 that really deserves his own story. Going to tell K.C Wells that lol.
I just realized that team 11 are reading books that we have read for this challenge as their task. That's funny.

Maybe a spin-off series?

I love this spin-off with the Widdershins librarians. A great start, and a blossoming romance between Sebastian and Vesper. Lots of potential here, a stack of great characters and intrigue within the library. And who ever said tentacles couldn’t be sexy.

Review: This third book about Will and Martin is really a soft one. Both of them have pasts that have had major impacts on them, Martin with how he was treated by his father all his life, and Will with some horrific torture endured while working in the navy. They discuss their pasts, and help each other when they get overwhelmed by them, but you don't live through them again, so all is softened by time. They have been friends since boyhood, and how they come together just seems to be natural and so very sweet.
Yay!! Am done. And all done with moving my mother now. Phew, and this book works for Bingo too, so two birds with one stone.

I do as well. I did want to ask her why she left but didn't want to seem like a stalker

Here is your next task!Task 21 - 74. Read 6 books published in a teammates' birth month, you may not use your own month.
This is not a team decision, you may read a book initially published in the birth month of any teammate. You may not use your own birth month unless it is the birth month of another teammate as well. Use the initial publication date for this task. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page, use it! Otherwise, I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification. Please include the teammate and their birth month in your completion posts.
