YA? book about a 13 y/o-ish boy who doesn't know if the day is Tuesday or Wednesday

This book was read to me by my counselor before we went to sleep at an Episcopalian church camp during the summer of 2016 when I was 9. My counselor never finished the book and the only things I remember are the boy didn't know if it was Tuesday or Wednesday and he kept talking to the village old man for advice and he maybe was looking for someone? That's all I remember.

I keep thinking of Garth Nix's series named after the days of the week. Mister Monday is the first book, but I have no clue if the rest matches.
