It did happen twenty five years ago.. although he has been going every time there is a parole hearing so it's a wonder he hasn't mentioned it. Maybe one hasn't occurred while he's being working with Kim. Or it's something he keeps to himself as it's so long ago and although sad and has stuck with him not relevant to his role in the team now.
Bryant was worried about the hearing. He was in the field most of the morning, and very little time in the office to share with anyone their. I don't think he said anything to Kim because Bryant is usually the solid, advice-giving partner. Also, I think he was hoping that after the parole hearing he wouldn't have anything to worry about. He did come to Kim after the hearing for advice.
Bryant seems like the strong, silent type when it comes to his own problems. He was worried about the possibility of parole, but wasn't ready to talk abut it. He was ready to say nothing until parole was actually granted.
I was perplexed at the time but in retrospect, I think Bryant didn’t want to voice his fears about the hearing, hoping his instincts were wrong. He wasn’t trying to keep something from Kim as much as he was trying to not give life to those fears.

I agree with Sharon on this one.
