Donna (oceans1) | 7 comments I read a book over 20 years ago and I have no idea when it may have been published. I do not know the author either. All I can remember about the story is that a couple people are in a house and each outside door opens onto a different location/reality. There may have been a way to change it (spin the house, maybe?) I would love to find it again and have tried everything but posting here. Hopefully someone can help

Donna, is this book for kids, teens or adults?

Can you tell us more about the main characters? Why are they in this house? Who owns the house?

Donna (oceans1) | 7 comments No, sorry, I do not remember. I know there at least two in the house and at least one is a female character. I only remember that I loved it thus why I have been trying to find it again. I know it is a long shot :(

Steventhesteve | 5 comments if not Howl's moving castle, perhaps the follow up "The House of Many Doors", also by Diana Wynne Jones.

Donna (oceans1) | 7 comments No, I had found that one before and it is not the one.

Erin | 8 comments On of m first thoughts was this: The High House by James Stoddard; I seem to remember at least one female character, though she isn’t mentioned in the summary here.

Donna (oceans1) | 7 comments OK this sounds much closer. The only thing about this one is that it sounds like the son already knows about the doors and in mine I think everyone involved was shocked and surprised and there is the element of the house "spinning" which may have been a term used by a character to describe how it felt or maybe that the house actually did spin and I think there was a "button" to push beside the door in order to make it happen. Having said that I will be reading the one you suggested because it sounds great. Thank you for that.

Donna (oceans1) | 7 comments Thank you but this is not the one. The door looks like a regular house door. This would have been published at no sooner than 2000.
