Sky | 1291 comments Part 3:

Please keep all discussion to the events and speculation from Chapter 20 - Chapter 29.

No spoiler tags required. Though it would be highly appreciated if you uncheck Add to my Update Feed to avoid accidentally spoiling this for your good read friends.

Please do not discuss events from later chapters. Referring back to events from a previous section/book is fine.

Sky | 1291 comments The section slowed a bit and then picked up towards the end. I just kind of blew threw it.

Scott (thekeeblertree) | 1049 comments Yeah I've been having a hard time slowing down. I don't want to blow through the book but I'm doing it anyway

Sky | 1291 comments hehe yeah. it started picking up at the end of this section and is continuing to pick up in the next. Maybe i'll pause and collect my thoughts then, maybe not :)

Bill | 1596 comments Glad Adamat is back to his detective work. So Claremont having no shadow was focused on. Does this mean he is possibly one of the gods? Maybe Brude?

Tamas parts in this section just kind of advanced the story without much standing out.

Please no love triangle with Taniel, Ka-Poel and Vlora. I really hoped it would be just put in the past. I absolutely hate love triangles or squares if you throw Olem in. Could add in Nila and Bo if Mcclellan wants to have things get really sloppy.

I really don't like that the two remaining riflejacks with Taniel don't have names. It seems really lazy on the authors part and kind of makes Taniel look like a dick. I mean you have less than ten people in your party and can't be bothered to learn their names.

Bill | 1596 comments You have a point but the circumstances are a little different. These people volunteered to come back him up in a very dangerous rescue operation. Little bit different then learning someones name who is doing low level work in an office.

I just enjoy a story more when authors give the background characters names instead of saying things like it was these named main characters and 4 generic soldiers. It is a very minor thing and not something that would really impact my enjoyment of a story. Think it just draws me into the story more.

Are the Riflejacks wearing red uniforms? I agrer this section was a bit slow, but the next section looks to be interesting.

Looks like Claremont's troops are the ones with Kapoel and pretending to be Kez.

I'm with you Bill. I hope there won't be some kind of love triangle.

Interesting theory on Claremont. I don't remember anything about the gods/Brude at all, so that idea didn't occur to me. Is Brude a vampire? O.o

Suzanne | 1582 comments I was pretty sure it wasn't the Kez who took Kapoel. Too bad I wasn't near a computer at that time so I could have written down my theory and felt smarter when it was revealed I was correct.

I have a lot of driving today, although some of it will be with a 3-year-old, but I'm hoping to get some good listening time in.

Robyn | 150 comments Ooh, I like the Brude theory. Intriguing! Must keep reading...

Conor | 57 comments I assumed the lack of a shadow meant Claremont was some kind of hologram. The Brude theory is interesting though. Are the gods in this section not supposed to have shadows?

Also, yeah I'm really hoping to avoid a Kapoel-Taniel-Vlora-Olem-Nila-Bo love...hexagon?
