After having read almost half of the series the show stole from all over and nothing makes sense. Or I can't think how so. W of these ard going to be translated into the show.

I am annoyed with both of them. Phillip keeps everything in. We get hints of how he grew up. Just once I wish these people would just talk. Chat. Mention why and what happened to make them whatever. Maybe I've read or watched too many shows where Eloise by now would have gotten a clue about tings from the servant or someone.
But all this has taken place over two days before the brothers show up. So when would that have happened. In the mean time Eloise is clueless about everything. What exactly did they write about that she didn't know he had twins. She knew Marina had died but not the circumstances? A fever after falling in the lake seems a possible big of chatter.
Okay she never divulged that she was writing Sir Philip and possible Sophie would have mentioned something about the tradegy.
As for the whole Penelope. Colin made a big thing of being on honeymoon as it were yet stays around during the courting? Why not return. Anthony and Gregory and Benedict.,shos home it is, is there.
I'm up to the shooting competition

You are right, the show is all over the place and they have put in little parts of each book I’ve read so far and I didn’t notice at the time because I hadn’t read the books yet. I was also blinded by how 🔥Rege is.

Philip said he wrote, edited, wrote, edited his letters before he sent them. He only wanted Eloise to see the good side of him. I think he was afraid to say, I only want you to be a mother.
As far as he knew, she was unattractive, and at the point where she would accept any proposal. Also, he was expecting a letter to accept his offer to stay.

I think I have a problem with his insecurities. It's so constant. And his inability to change. He knows what the problem is, sees it clearly yet don't know how to fix it.
Yes he painstakingly wrote those letters. Oh you know what I think I'm just nitpicking because I'm frustrated with the whole lot of them.

Laura I was the same. 🔥Rege
But I remember reading Benedict's book and wonder about the show and who he was portrait their verses the book. That gay element was nowhere to be seen for instance.
And now they have Marina the distant cousin in the book but in the show something to do with the Featherintons.
Also in the show they made a thing of Anthony and the opera singer who was nowhere in the book
It really makes me think they didn't really think it would go far so bring in all these elements for the show. TV land always do their own thing.
I'll get it from the Library later this week.
