I read this in the early 2000’s but it was possibly published in the late 90s - the cover was pale tan I think, and the title might have String in it, like Stringmaster or something… It was a YA fantasy (possibly dystopian) novel with a female protagonist and what sticks out is that at some point she has to journey to this land that has “very old children,” like they’re child-sized but I think they actually look like old people? It’s not a huge plot point but it’s the only thing that sticks out in my mind… any help appreciated!!
