YA Fiction Trilogy I read in 2009, about a book that you cannot read aloud. If you read it out loud bad things will happen. .

It centres around a child who lived in a museum/library with their ?grandmother and had a missing guardian (father).

The central theme of the book is that there is one special book that is powerful, but should never be read aloud. It also involves travel to magical worlds via books.

There is also an old magic woman/witch that lives in a room in the museum/library.

I'm also pretty sure that the book that I'm looking for was a part of a trilogy.

Hi Sarah! Thank you for your reply :) Unfortunately it's not Inkheart series. The protagonist travels to the realm of each book's world, but cannot summon creatures from the books into the real world.
