Patrick | 6 comments Hi!

The page numbering for this title on Goodreads is incorrect. The correct number of pages, cited from Ingram's ipage, is 912 pages.

Cheers,
Patrick

Patrick | 6 comments Although, I suppose, if you go by the body text only, the correct number of pages, excluding bibliography and table of contents, etc., is 875.

Sandra | 31525 comments Patrick, we include bibliography, table of contents & other acknowledgements. We don't include blank pages or excerpts from other books.

Also please add the isbn of your edition & a year published to make sure we have the correct edition.

Sandra | 31525 comments This edition has had quite a few page number changes, and most of the editions listed on Worldcat (our preferred source for print editions) have 757 with one edition stated 879.

So do you have the edition in hand or are you just using Ingram? As far as I'm aware Ingram isn't an acceptable source for our records.

Patrick | 6 comments I have the edition in hand. The main text and bibliography together end on page 879. That excludes the table of contents, advertisement, preface and characters list, which together I believe bring it to 912.

Sandra | 31525 comments Is the table of contents, preface & characters list at the beginning of the book?

The way the page numbering system works ~ we don't include anything at the beginning of the book that uses roman numerals, some books might start at say page 6, we ignore that also. At the end of the book we include anything about the book but exclude blank pages, advertisements, excerpt of other works.

Patrick | 6 comments Yes, all that material is at the beginning in roman numerals. The book proper (chapter 1, page 1) starts with "page 1." The last numbered page is the last page of the bibliography, the only page-numbered material following the text proper, and that page is "page 879."

Sandra | 31525 comments OK, adding 879 pages.

And done.

Thanks for your patience Patrick :)

Patrick | 6 comments No— thank YOU! =]
