What were your least favorite books of the Summer 2021 Challenge? Which books didn't meet your expectations?

Joanne (joabroda1) | 1557 comments The most boring book I read giving it only 2 stars Master and Commander

Robin P | 1610 comments One Last Stop was so disappointing after the author's debut with the wonderful Red, White & Royal Blue. I couldn't believe it was the same author. The time travel aspect was less fantastical than a New York City full of multi-gendered, multi-hued people who all love each other and somehow afford to live there on part-time jobs as artists and servers. And the story was so slow.

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 3940 comments I had so many bad books this season. I don't understand how some of them even get published

The Cranes Dance
The Pyramid of Mud just 2 of the 12 I rated 1 star and another 16 were only 2 stars.

I am hoping for better this season

Hannah | 448 comments Into the Water by Paula Hawkins I found to be boring. The was a lot of shifting of perspectives and hopping all over the timeline, with no clear purpose.

Also Furious Hours: Murder, Fraud, and the Last Trial of Harper Lee was a disappointment. The kind of book I really had to push myself to finish.

Oh well... looking back, most of the books I read were very enjoyable! :)

Two of my least favorite books were Queenie and Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World.

Deborah | 1667 comments Really disappointed in A Thin Dark Line. Hated just about every character in the book.

Crazy Rich Asians. Sorry! One of the VERY few books that I actually enjoyed the movie more than the book. And yes, I read the book FIRST.

The Friend Zone Meh
