Please post your nominations for November's Weird Fiction group read to this topic. We have been going heavily classical of late. Let's do something contemporary for a change of pace, 2012 or later, and leaning to the horror side because it's just passed October. As always, the poll will run starting about October 15, mid-month.

I nominate The Wingspan of Severed Hands by Joanna Koch. We have previously read The King in Yellow here in our group. This novella really builds on those themes, particularly the yellow sign thing. It's definitely Weird because it merges horror and science fiction in high writing craft, hard to pin down the text way. I think we'd enjoy this one.
I know it's a little older than you've said, but I think this group will appreciate William Browning Spencer's 1995 novel
Zod Wallop
.
I am changing October to November. This Arthur Machen read looks like it's taking everyone, especially me, extra time to complete.
My second nomination is Her Fingers by Tamara Romero. She is a fairly well-known Catalan author who has written a number of books in her language. To the best of my knowledge, this is her only translated work so far.
I didn't get past the first story either, Zina. I think those selections are Machen's best, and I really hope to get to them some day, but the magnitude of the reading, like with the one the month before, daunted me. I find it hard to invest in a read much longer than 200 pages these days because there's so much I want to read. These are all fairly short, so I'll probably get to the winner this time.
When I hear Weird Fiction my mind is drawn to two authors HP of course and RE Howard. Is RE considered a contender?
REH is placed in Weird because so much of his work featured in Weird Tales. Some of his work, most of it not so well known, is true, legitimate Weird. It's outstanding and I'd love to consider some of that work for reading here. Most of his better known works I consider Sword and Sorcery, pure Fantasy, but only containing elements of Weird, particularly the sorcery part.
He crossed ideas with HP and off course was in his circle of writers / penpals.
He wrote everything from western to horror.
I may just nominate something of his?
