I'm trying to remember the title of a book I read long ago, but I almost have zero to go on, so my searches have come up empty. I thought it was by Dan Brown, but I have gotten all of his books from the library (unless they are missing one) and have had no luck.
Anyway, the plot is about a select group of people who have been given the ability to see other people's digital details on a heads up display only they can see (health records, bank statements, any personal online info etc). I can't even remember the plot details, hence why I want to read again.
There is only one scene in the book that I remember clearly. There are two of these all seeing people standing in line at a coffee shop. One good person and one evil. A rich customer in front makes a snide comment to the evil all-seer and in retribution the all-seer pulls up the guys financial details and zeroes them all out, thereby getting his credit card declined for his coffee purchase.
Sorry, that is all I have. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I can't even remember if it was a good book, but just wanted to read it again after reading Ready Player One and Two.
