I read these from the library around 2004, but they seemed old then. Maybe written in the 80s. I think the author was female. It may have been set in a small town near Boston. I remember reading ones set around St Patrick’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and maybe one that was Pentecost or some more obscure church holiday. I think the St Patrick’s one starts in a local library, then has someone turn up dead at the abbey where the detective gets called in because he is friends with the Mother Superior. There was another one where I remember finding some yearbooks in someone’s home were very important The detective is the same through the series, male, middle aged, single, had a strong connection to his neighbors. Any help is appreciated.

Author Jane Haddam's Gregor Demarkian series is what first came to my mind. It hits a lot of the points you remember - female author, set around holidays, male, middle aged, single detective who is very much a part of his close-knit Armenian community in Philadelphia, although other "cases" are outside of there.

They were written in the early 90's and the first 10 or so have the holiday theme.
