Former child prodigy Beth Nixon later marries her child psychologist, though years after their patient-doctor relationship had ended. Is there anything ethically wrong with them being together? How do you feel about their union?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments She was no longer a patient, and hadn't been his patient for a long time. There isn't anything ethically wrong with their relationship.

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments I agree with Sharon.

~Teresa Nope, nothing wrong, ethically or otherwise, with their relationship. I was not bothered at all by their marriage if it worked for them.

Same here. He treated the child, not the adult, even though initially it felt like ewww.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) Yeah, I suppose you gals are right. They hadn't seen each other for a long time and she reached out. Still feels a bit uncomfortable to me though. But they were happy except till the murderous brother came along!

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1812 comments While there was nothing ethically inappropriate in the relationship as he was no longer counseling her and a significant amount of time had passed, it still seemed a little off to me. Perhaps the issue was more the age gap and Beth obviously seeing Barry as a father figure.

Lynn (ftbooklover) It was a little eww, but I again agree with Sharon.
