When the team goes to Belinda’s house, they meet her sister Veronica who isn’t very cooperative. What did you make of her at the time? Her relationship with Belinda?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments She jumped right to the top of my list. I wondered why she was lying to the police. The only reason I could think that she was so vague and unhelpful was because she killed Belinda or she knows who did.

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments She was a piece of work. I was floored by her attitude toward her sister's murder and her sister in general. I knew she was hiding something big and assumed it had to do with the murder.

~Teresa She was the most interesting character, in my opinion. So abrasive while at the same time helping? I knew there was a secret she was keeping, but when we found out the secret, it was a little bit of a letdown.

I was turned off to and suspicious of her at first. But after a while when part of her past kept being revealed, I moved to where you got to Teresa. She’s a complex woman but I was certain she was hiding something sinister.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) What a strange relationship these sisters seemed to have. They both seemed a little unusual. I did have the thought that this would factor in to what happened to Belinda.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1812 comments I liked her! Her personality is not all that dissimilar to Kim's and I understood that something must have happened to the sisters to forge their strange relationship.

I did not suspect her because it was clear to me that despite their differences Veronica loved her sister and was hurt by her death.

That said, I did suspect that she had information that would be helpful to the investigation.

Kudos, Lauren, for that insight!

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1812 comments Thanks Jonetta!

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments Great insight Lauren. Veronica was on my list through most of the book.

Lynn (ftbooklover) Their whole relationship seemed odd from the beginning. She was definitely meant to be a large red herring in this story.

Indeed. I was hung up on her as a suspect for much too long.

With the amount of time that was spent on her, I think she was meant to throw off the reader.

Mission accomplished. It had the effect of me missing other clues that might have led me down the right path.

I believe this is the sign of a really good author.

Me, too.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments Me too! She was so unlikable which made her more suspicious in my mind.
