The story begins with a prologue where a woman is being murdered at a park. Did you later think we were witness to Belinda Evan’s murder?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments I did.

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments I was very confused. In the prologue, the woman was tied head-down on the playground ride that goes around in circles (no idea what it is called). Her head and face were severely injured before she died. When Belinda Evans was found, she was tied to a swing. I kept waiting for Keats to say something about her injuries, but he just mentioned the knife wound. Then I was REALLY confused. So, I guessed that there was a murder before Belinda Evans, but the fact actually didn't come up till near the end of the book.

It took me a while to figure out Belinda wasn’t the murder from the prologue. Then I went back and saw it had occurred in 2010!

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments LOL I didn't even notice the year.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments I noticed the year after this question. I missed it because I listened, and didn't read this one. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

😁😁😁

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) I noticed the year straight away. So assumed that this was an earlier murder. And was somehow related to the current murder.

You’re attentive, Lisa. Blew right by me.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1812 comments I also noticed the year in the prologue, so I knew it wasn't Belinda's death being described. In fact, I was waiting for the connection to emerge for most of the book.

Lynn (ftbooklover) I found the entire first half of this book very hard to follow. The two alternating mysteries confused me and I mixed up a lot of clues.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments It was confusing. I found myself jumping back and forth between the audio book and the e-book to keep track.

That prologue hung me up for a while until I finally got that these were two different events.

Lynn (ftbooklover) The last half of the book was much easier to follow.
