I read this book in the mid-2000's it was about two sisters and was split into two parts from each of their POVs. Second part may have been titled something like "Into the light". One sister thought her older sister was the favourite etc, was a scene where she had a bath and went into her bedroom and talked to her sister's boyfriend however in second part when other sister tells it she describes sister wearing skimpy towel and flirting with boyfriend. There was a dance at the end one sister possibly was singing or playing guitar and reference to one of the sister's attempting suicide with a knife on a birthday.

Thanks, that sounds like a good book but isn't the one I'm thinking of. I think I read this book around 2003-2004. Definitely no later than 2006.
