a book about Alexander the Great that I read as a kid in audiobook form 2008

it was a book I remember in school it was a audio book style all i remember about it and from what i can gather from my memory is that its about Alexander the Great it kind of gave it a more now like modern setting instead of it really it also portrayed most major characters as kind of kids or semi teens to teens i remember the Gordian Knot being on like a lamp post or something and i remember it had Cesar i don't know if its the historical roman emperor I did read this in around 2008 but the book could be a older book I really wanted to know what the book was its been bugging me for years not to know
