I read this book sometime around the 1980s. The book is about a woman and her father who want to salvage a crashed plane in a jungle. Hires a guide in the jungle who helps by moving the plane and even floating the plane on a pontoons through the jungle and make it out - in the final scene the plane is hitched to a truck and driven on the highway towards the city.
