Basically there's a girl who goes to live with her uncle in a library. Her uncle is part of a group which guards their libraries jealously as the libraries contain books that lead to other worlds. In these worlds, creatures live there that these people capture. After capture, they can summon these creatures by tugging on mental strands to do their bidding. The uncle has a giant cat which has a brother that is a dragon who is named Dragon. The girl captures the dragon later.

If I remember correctly, I read this book 5-7 years ago, and it is part of a series. If you can help me find it, it'd be very much appreciated :)
