I'm looking for a book I read as a young teen. It is a sci fi book set in the future that isn't necessarily religious but is obviously a gospel analogy. The series is a trilogy. I don't remember much, but I do remember the planet the book takes place on has a permanently dark and light side. There's a wall separating the two sides and the government of the light side doesn't want people crossing the border. The main character ends up on the dark side and meets an outcast civilization who helps him get back to the light side of the planet. The "Jesus" analogy character ends up getting caught by the light side government and is arrested because he was wanted prior. The Jesus character is eventually killed. In the last book, the main character and a few others end up on a spaceship going to another planet.
The City In The Middle of the Night sounds a lot like the book I'm looking for, unfortunately it can't be because it was published too recently and is not part of a trilogy.
That's all I remember, it's been a long time since I read it (between 2012 - 2015).
Cheers!
