The thing I liked the most so far was figure 5 (about pragmatism and idealism over time). I often feel the tension Leenaert describes between being pragmatic and standing up for my ideals. The idea that while now is a time that calls for a pragmatic approach the time for discussing vegan ideals more decisively might come later feels very encouraging to me.
At what point in your vegan journey did you feel conflicted between pragmatism and idealism? What approach did you choose? How did thing turn out?

I does feel like I am betraying the animals if I’m not saying “go vegan” but there are so many many people that are completely uninterested in going vegan. I want to start practicing the pragmatic approach when I finish the book because I haven’t been doing any activism for a while.

"but there are so many many people that are completely uninterested in going vegan." - that part.
I think I'm an idealist - I want everyone to go vegan, and I think everyone should (if they can), but that's just not realistic, at least not now. I can't even get my family to eat one meatless or dairy-free meal per day.
