Zack finally buys into the probability that Liz couldn’t be trusted. Could you understand his point of view or should he have handled this differently?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3484 comments Another big fail for me. Zack knows Liz. At a minimum he should have confronted her for an explanation then they could have tried to figure it out together. A team.

This is one of those cases where Liz should have told Zack to stick it and make him grovel for a week.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1811 comments I agree with Sharon. Zack should have trusted Liz more and given her the respect of asking her directly to explain.

I grudgingly accept Mad's claim that Zack had never been in love before and was completely bamboozled by his feelings for Liz. Still, it was annoying...

Like Sharon, I feel Liz was too forgiving. She should have made Zack grovel much more like Sara did with Mad.

I grudgingly accept that excuse, too, Lauren. And, he had the added pressure of not just making a choice for himself as a man but the weight of the office. Roman’s relentless assault in his ear didn’t help either. At least Zack admitted he couldn’t be objective. That’s when Roman should have stepped up and been that objectivity. But Roman’s never exercised good insight when it comes to people. He may be a political genius but he’s an epic failure in even knowing his own heart.

I gave Zack some leeway here because his instincts were screaming at him that Liz was innocent.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I agree with all of you. I think that Zack should have trusted Liz but he never had that kind of relationship previously and he trusted his best friend. So I gave him a pass but I think deep down, he knew it wasn't Liz that was guilty.

Lynn (ftbooklover) I was disappointed that he didn't stick to his guns on that.

Do you mean stick to his guns trusting Liz?

Yes, he started out strongly believing in her and then he just threw it all away.

I guess it is because so much was happening to bring them down, they didn't know who to trust. Just the same, Zack's treatment of Liz was inexplicable.

I guess as readers, we know Liz's thoughts, but the other characters don't.
