He wasn’t a man given to impatience, but then he’d never craved anyone the way he did Elizabeth.

If you're looking for a book to keep you up all night and a series that you will never want to end, look no further. Because this phenomenal series couldn't have ended with a better book. An epic conclusion to one epic thrill ride full of twists and turns, action and suspense, and scorching hot romance!!!

Zack Hayes is the President of the United States, a position he and his family planned for him seemingly since birth. But now he’s in turmoil as revelations about the conspiracy involving the Russian cartel and his past begin to reach a climax that threaten his presidency. Elizabeth (Liz) Matthews, his press secretary and the woman he’s secretly loved for years, stands steadfastly by his side but may not be who she appears to be.

First, this is a series that must be read in order as there is a c

I probably would have given this book 5 stars if the authors would calm down with all the "feelings". It was just so much at times and over the top. Other than that though, I seriously loved the mystery plot and finally finding out the whole truth about all the questions brought up in the series. I was pleasantly surprised by a few revelations and am glad to knock this series off my list. ...more

If I could give this book 10 stars, I would. phenomenal ending to a great series.
Boring...too chick-lit. With the Gentlemen being the chicks...all their feelings...snooze.
Shocking since the H was the Leader of the Free World and a bit of a dirty talker, the H/h truly loved each other (both couples since the dead dude is alive and romancing his baby mama as well as the main couple) and had to wait years to get together eyes glazed over, I skimmed the middle, guessed the bad guy, was right, and read the cute epilogue.

Zach Hayes said it best: "Wow, just Wow!" As the last book in the series, this is fantastic from beginning to end. There have been a lot of conspiracies floated and we finally get to find out what really happened and why. This series has been a real surprise to me. I didn't expect to love both the characters and the plot arc so much. The action and the tension make this a real great finale to the series. ...more

so these were my tweets.

I KNEW I'd be ... ugh. And I so hoped but ... no.
I wanted to take an iron rail and swing it at Zack's head. To say nothing of Roman - though his head AND junk would've gotten the beat down.

I'm FURIOUS at how Liz is just "oh ok" which - fuck - I get forgiveness and shit but COME. THE. FUCK. ON. BITCH. COME. ON.

What the WHAT?!?! I've been anxiously waiting for this final installment in The Perfect Gentlemen series. It grabbed my attention from the beginning, keeping me on the edge of my seat as I waited for what I was afraid of, and what I hoped for, to happen. At The Pleasure of the President is the last book in the "Perfect Gentleman" series and dang I adored this book, it might be one of my favorites of the whole series. Which in hindsight is actually a real relief to be honest because I was so worried because this is a book I have been most looking forward to ever since I read the first book not too long ago. Now I do want to point out this review is going to have spoilers so if yo

Goodness me, I’ve been waiting on pins and needles for the final installment of the fantastic The Perfect Gentlemen series—dying to read about Zack and Elizabeth—and At the Pleasure of the President did notdisappoint.

There are so many pieces of the story, so many layers to peel. Zack and Elizabeth have been circling around each other since the presidential campaign. They’ve never acted on their feelings until now. Until they can no longer be denied and until all their lives are at risk.

5 Star review of At The Pleasure of the President (The Perfect Gentlemen #5) by Shayla Black and Lexi Blake
Although this can be read as a stand-alone, I would recommend you read the first four books. It will give you a better understanding and background to what is happening as there is a continuing story line throughout the books.
This is a hard review to write as I do not want to give away any spoilers. I love an alpha male, add in a feisty heroine and I am there. The action is fast paced, I

The conspiracy plot comes to a head as President Zack Hayes must confront the ghosts of his past and determine whether he can trust the only woman he has ever loved.

This final installment in the series provides a satisfying ending to the engrossing mystery plot that has been developing from the first book, and the last few chapters are intense and exciting with some final surprising twists and turns.

Nevertheless, similar to the romances of the other Perfe

What a disappointment

This book was a long time coming. I had such high hopes. Alas, my slog continues.

The first 3rd of the book was pretty much a rehash of the previous releases in this series. While each of those was kinda standalone, there was a continuing mystery. For those of us who had been there since the beginning, thiere was very little new information. The section was drawn out and boring. What was new provided enough information to figure out who the bad guys were and made the rest o

Ridiculous and disappointing

I loved the first four books and so badly wanted to like this last one, but I was so disappointed. I wish it had just focused on Mad and Sara because somehow that was more believable that the entire storyline for Zach and Liz. It felt like the authors had literally no idea how government works, and even knowing its fiction, everything about the Russians was so absurd I couldn’t enjoy the characters at all. It ruined any and all good will the fourth book had created,

This is the book that we have all been waiting for. This is the final book in the Perfect Gentlemen series and boy was it worth the wait. Without revealing any secrets, all of our questions were answered. There are many bumps in the road as the story progresses. Lies, betrayals, double agents, spies, attempted assassinations and romance, all come into play as the Gentlemen try to solve the mystery that was planned long before they were born. I really enjoyed this book. Shayla Black and Lexi Blak ...more

FINAL DECISION: Entirely satisfying conclusion of this series with plenty of appearances by everyone important in the series. Wraps up everything nicely including all the romances you expect and need.

THE STORY: This book picks up immediately after the conclusion of SMOKE AND SIN. The dangers are surrounding the Perfect Gentlemen and their women as the conspiracy around the President Zach Hayes becomes more open. Zach is also torn as the woman he has wanted for years, his Press Secretary Elizabet

At The Pleasure of the President (The Perfect Gentlemen #5) by Shayla Black and Lexi Blake is the final book in this exciting and intense series. This book holds the answers that have been there since book 1 and have built up with each additional story.

This is the 5th book in the Perfect Gentlemen series. Admittedly, I have not read the first four. I picked it up because I enjoy political romances and they are hard to find. The book does not work well as a stand alone. There are a ton of characters and it is frustrating when you don't know their backstory. There is also an intricate plot involving espionage, a pipeline, and the Russians. I found myself skimming through most of the book because I didn't understand what was going on.

It's "Answers Time" for the Perfect Gentlemen. At the Pleasure of the President by Shayla Black and Lexi Blake is the fifth and final book in their Perfect Gentlemen series. There's lots of action going on in this story. The guys are all back together working to solve the Russian problem plaguing their own President Zack Hayes. This final book sees all the Perfect Gentlemen find the "love of their life" partners and entails some super sexy scenes. I loved seeing all the main characters from the ...more

It was nice following these two love story at the same time but i wasn't always a big fan of the president lol.

That Roman really really annoyed me but i guess you always need someone against every one lol.

Overall i felt a bit let down by the final blowout, it seemed a bit too easy, some things didn't add up and i was a bit confused. Since it was already hardly believable (or at least more

What an ending to this series. So glad to see Mad back from the dead. Quirky Freddy was such a blast. Lots of lies and a lack of trust. But in the end love was all that was required. Loved the ending.
Narration was awesome too.

I love this series. Mad and Sara and Zack and Liz are both amazing. Mad is the driving force behind all the Gentlemen. He is the glue to the family.

I was so looking forward to the conclusion of this series, but it was just meh for me, possibly because Zack is not my favourite character. I thought having Maddox back might shake things up, however Freddy ended up being the character I enjoyed the most. Liz had the right to be totally pissed off towards the end, but that dissipated way too quickly for me.

Like many reviewers, I have been waiting for this book and like some, I have questioned whether I should get off the crazy train at least once or twice before but am happy I stuck around. The authors do a good job of pulling all the threads together and a strong closure to the core question of who is Sergei and is the President a Russian asset. I like the secondary storyline for the Perfect Gentlemen and it carries the relationship redemption that the main characters of this book, Zach (aka, the ...more
