What Is the Name of This Book? question

In the mid 2000’s, I remember reading a book (TRUE STORY) about a young man (poss. between ages 17-25) who went missing in a swamp/marsh area somewhere in the southern US (poss. Louisiana or Mississippi) while on a hunting trip with his dad. His family searched for him for months until they found his body and got the closure they needed. It was a Christian theme, about hope, faith, perseverance, and trust in God. The family of the man was Christian. I thought I remember that the young man had autism or was possibly deaf, but I could be wrong. I’ve had no luck with Google searches trying to find the title! Does anyone recall a book like this or even a news report about this missing persons case?
