SOLVED: Children's/YA > SOLVED. YA Historical fiction. Read in ‘03-05ish about a girl who was captured by Native Americans from her home and taken to live with the tribe. She ends up falling in love with (I think) the chiefs son & learns about their culture and ways of life.

Katie (katiebooksflights) | 3 comments The cover was emerald green and there was a green ribbon bookmark built into the binding of the book. I know for sure it’s not Where the Broken Heart Still Beats by Carolyn Meyer because I bought the book thinking it was the one I’m looking for. I think the main characters sister was captured too but I do remember they lived in a house on the prairie.

Katie (katiebooksflights) | 3 comments Jeeeeeze… tell me how I’ve been looking for this book for MONTHS now and I finally posted for help and then miraculously find it on my own?! The book is part of the Dear America series - Standing in the Light: The Captive Diary of Catharine Carey Logan.

Theresa F. | 9 comments This plot sounds somewhat similar to a book that I read in grade school called
Mary Jemison, Indian Captive
However, my book was a paperback and the cover had a yellow color scheme. I tried searching for it in the Goodreads database, just in case your book was a later edition. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the exact book I owned because I can't remember the author's name, and since Mary Jemison was a real person there are actually multiple books about her, some more fictionalized than others.
