I just read this book, winner of a Printz Award, set in El Paso in the late 1980s, where one of the main male characters talks so sweetly about his desire to kiss another boy. There are a lot of relationships in this book, mother and son, son and father, brother and brother, friend and friend, boyfriend and boyfriend. A lot of troubled and "imperfect" relationships and a lot of love. This was, in the end, a lovely and lyrical book about love.
