I haven't really heard any feedback (only a few good comments) about doing "reading through" and "finished" threads versus spoilers and no spoilers threads..so I'm just going to experiment with this again because I think we were all so busy to really participate in the group reads. So..in the thread labeled discussion thread..please put your honest feedback for which format you prefer and why.

Use this thread if you are reading through the book and you want to talk about it. For example, if you are anything like me, if something crazy happens in a book I always want to talk about it right after it happens! It's also nice to discuss with others who are reading through it. Please make sure at the top of every thing you post you have a Spoiler warning and say up to what page you are on.

For those of you who haven't read this, are you looking forward to it?

I have most definitely am! It's been sitting on my bookshelf for a while. I got it at a used book sale and keep meaning to start it. I've heard good things about it.

Drew Wilson (drewhamilton) I am most definitely looking forward to it, once i finish The Magicians (magnificent, thus far). I'd definitely like to see threads like this. I bought it new and set it on my "to read" shelf at home. It will be next if this thread gets rolling.

Annie Hartman (anniebananie) | 242 comments I started this and I just cant finish it. I cant stand the animals.. they're so helpless and I that fate is not going to be good to them!
Sorry, going to have to pass this one up!

I haven't read this yet, but remembered it was a group read awhile back. Saw today that the author has just released/is about to release his new one, Beatrice and Virgil. It is related to the Holocaust.

Another note in the article, Life of Pi is being made into a movie.

It's being made into a movie? I have had this on my bookshelf for a couple years now. I definitely need to read it before the movie comes out!

Emily | 62 comments I couldn't find the "read" section for this book, so I'll just post here.

I enjoyed "Life of Pi". The language was varied, but not too complicated to understand. The story was unique (who had ever thought of a young boy surviving on a lifeboat with a young adult Bengal tiger). Sometimes the chapters would be a bunch of very short chapters in a row which did feel a bit tedious.

Overall, I liked it. I would recommend it as a good book to read once, but I doubt I'll pick it up again.

David (canadiandave) I disliked the book. The premise was okay, but the reading was tedious. I have since donated the book to charity.
