Max wastes no time in investigating Scott Sheldon’s disappearance once she arrives in Colorado Springs. Law enforcement seemed to be reluctant to even take her calls let alone meet with her. Did you think it was because she is a reporter or did it feel like they had something to hide?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments This case was a nightmare for authorities. It was already a cold case when it was reported and the jurisdiction wasn't clear cut. I think the cracks ate this one and no one wanted to acknowledge that.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments My feeling is Colorado Springs is a college town. Law enforcement doesn't want to cast a shadow on the college. Add to that a nosy reporter, and they put up roadblocks.

Also, I thought the "bully" (I forgot his name) had money and influence.

Art was the bully.

I could see them being wary about a reporter nosing around, especially one from out of town. But Scott was still missing. I expected them to be more helpful and when they weren’t, I had to question their motives.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I don't think they wanted anything to do with a reporter. Odds are any reporter was going to do a story on how the police weren't doing their job, so they were wary. Max just wanted to see what had been found so far so she could continue the investigation.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments I figured it was because she was a reporter. Cops never like talking to reporters. They didn't realize how much of a help she could have been.
