Suman Saha (suman_saha) This book is amazing. Totally enjoyed it and couldn't resist to go for the sequels asap.

Sebastian | 31 comments I just read the first three chapters. Sort of standard sci-fi premise. Not really drawn into it so far but it's not bad. We'll see.

Go ahead inside, it will change.

message 5: by Eva (new) - rated it 4 stars

Eva | 968 comments There are some huge plot twists later, so I agree that the "standard premise" should absolutely not discourage you. :-)

If you're unsure if your post is vague or spoiler free enough for this thread, please just take it right to the spoiler thread! You can say what page or chapter you're on so people replying can keep their comments in line with your knowledge at the time 🙂 Here though is just for comments about how you're liking it so far and generalizations like "it's quick" or "I've laughed out loud."

MadProfessah (madprofesssah) | 775 comments VELOCITY WEAPON is amazing! I agree it starts off sorta slow but when the [redacted] plot twist happens it becomes quite a different book than what we think it’s going to be from the beginning.

And the diverse cast of characters is a huge plus in my book.

Icy-Cobwebs-Crossing-SpaceTime (readingreindeerproximacentauri) | 4 comments I read this a while back, and so adored it that I bought the continuing series! Time to reread and continue the Series.

Gabi | 3441 comments First impression: positive.
The story starts in media res, but without being secretive with names and events, the chapters are short which is great for a just-one-more-chapter reader like I am, and I always like the structure with changing timelines.

The SciFi Book Guy (thescifibookguy) This one has been on my TBR for a while and this group read is getting me off my butt to finally read it. Looking forward to starting it up!

=David= | 37 comments I appreciate knowing twists are coming. I was about ready to give up on it, but now I'm curious to go a little further and see what happens...

Raucous | 888 comments I started this for a buddy read early this year and then drifted away about a quarter of the way through. The enthusiasm and promise of excitement ahead has prompted me to pick it up again. So far it's going better.

Clyde Liesman | 20 comments For myself the story line pulled me right into and immersed me. Love it so far!

message 14: by Laura (new)

Laura | 20 comments I started yesterday and right now I‘m flying through it and I really enjoy it so far!

message 15: by Christopher (new)

Christopher | 981 comments Bouncing off this one, will try again next month.

MadProfessah (madprofesssah) | 775 comments @Christopher what didn’t work for you?
The main thing that comes to mind is that it does appear to have a lot of important characters to follow, early on.

message 17: by Paul (new) - rated it 2 stars

Paul (paulusm) | 10 comments Yes, have read enough to be drawn in with the basic premise. A few clichés and quite filmic writing stood out in ch2, but otherwise enjoyable.

message 18: by Christopher (new)

Christopher | 981 comments Nothing I can put my finger on, I just wasn't that into it after the first few chapters.

I checked around for reviews and found a few negative ones and convinced myself that the opportunity cost (probably would take the rest of my reading time this month to finish) was too high against my large TBR including a few highly anticipated releases I just got from library after a long wait (We Are Satellites & The Witness for the Dead).

Maybe I should give it another chance, will consider.

Ellen | 940 comments Half way and I'm liking it very much.

Travis Foster (travismfoster) | 1154 comments I'm a third of the way through and also really enjoying it. So far it seems to be handling the multiple perspectives nicely.

Midiain | 342 comments At about 20% and I'm still having a little trouble getting into the book. The main problem is with the multiple pov characters and timelines because I'm significantly more interested in one of them and not all that interested in another of them so it stalls a bit for me each time the perspective shifts. I am curious about how the timelines will converge though.

Monica (monicae) | 517 comments Caillen, I just came in to say something similar. I'm 36% into the book (audio book) and I'm finding that I am not at all anxious to find out what happens. I'm putting the book aside for a while. Half the month is gone and that's valuable time I can use for books that draw me in. This just isn't the time for me to read it ...

Pixelina | 64 comments I am at chapter 14 so might be finishing this late but glad it got picked since i most likely never whould have found it on my own.

message 24: by Anna (new) - rated it 3 stars

Anna (vegfic) | 10464 comments Not late at all! I haven't even started yet, and I was planning on starting when the final book came out two months ago.

message 25: by J.W. (new) - rated it 5 stars

J.W. | 229 comments Okay I loved that opening chapter.
