Duplicate book due to duplicate author

Hi there,

I have detected I duplicate book:
El vuelo de los buitres: El desatre del Annual y la guerra del Rif
El vuelo de los buitres: El desastre de Annual y la guerra del Rif

The reason of this duplicate is that the author appears twice with different names:
Jorge Martínez Reverte
Jorge M. Reverte

Is there a way of merging both author profiles and his books?

Moved one edition from Martínez to M. and combined with the other edition.

As for merging the author profiles, I can't tell if the remaining books on the Martínez profile are by the same author. One of them has the full name on the cover, so the full name profile has to stay anyway.

Thanks for the answer. Both author profiles refer to the same person and probably the books are duplicated but I understand you want to keep both.

I checked Wikipedia (Spanish) for this author, and he was commonly published as Jorge M. Reverte. That is also what the covers have, except for one Spanish book, a Greek translation of another book and a contribution to a third book: https://www.goodreads.com/author/list...

I've added some details to the Jorge M. Reverte profile Jorge M. Reverte, and made sure that that is the primary author on all editions.

For the editions with Jorge Martínez Reverte on the cover, I've added that version as secondary author, and also added a link on the profile to his main author profile: Jorge Martínez Reverte

There was an edition of El mensajero on both profiles, one without details. That empty duplicate is merged (=deleted).

Thanks a lot for your amendments. Based on the same source (wikipedia) both authros are the same because the 3 books in https://www.goodreads.com/author/show... refer to Jorge M. Reverte.

Anyway, I'm not sure what's the policy based on book cover. Probably, the best solution would be to have author aliases in this case so that people can search both for "Jorge Martínez Reverte and Jorge M. Reverte" and find it is the same author. Is that possible?
