Another infection and so I didn’t read much in July. Should I just start with books to be published next week and get back to the others when I can?

Yes. That's exactly what you should do. Once you're back on track, either sneak the old ones in where you can, or if you read multiple books at a time, add one already-published title into the mix. But get the next month's titles out of the way before you touch the oldies.
