parents move in with their daughter to a new big house, the teenager is left alone overnight and discovers that people are trapped in the paintings of the house, and that the previous owner did this. the house is also described as dark and with no real light source. she is pursued by the owner and even enters some painting where people imprisoned ask her for help. This is a French book(I am french , sorry if I make mistakes…) and if I remember correctly, there is the house on the cover of the book, and the cover is pretty dark.
