Colonel Ponder leads a force into Elysium city to retrieve an 'Innie'. A confrontation develops and due to an over-eager sniper, a grenade is detonated causing Ponder to lose his arm and be demoted.[2]

2515A.D. Humans ask for Torak aid to attack the frost giant home planet. The Alliance of Aliens (Interspecies alliance) are enraged and launch an attack on the Torak. 2516A.D. Humans begin research on Neptune. Jacob Keyes enlists in the Luna OCS Academy. Jane Shebura is born

2517A.D. Torak armada engages Alliance of Aliens (ISA) armada at Torak home Solar System. The alien armada is so large it covers a fourth of the system. While the ISA armada engaged the outer ring defenses, a large Torak fleet engaged the alien alliance from above. Another fleet attacked from the rear, containing Warship Y. The Apes set up ships to intercept any stragglers that ventured further to Torak space.
Humans then slipspace a la cuadrangular warship above the ISA and fire a small black hole at capital ship, the ship collapsed on itself, and then the black hole collapsed on itself, throwing the debris of the capital ship to the hundreds of other ships surrounding it. 3 Phoenix-class warships were sent out to destroy the Covenant Battle station Unyielding Hierophant while half of the La Cuadrangular Warships were sent to help engage the warships, the other half was sent to destroy the locust ship. Warship Y of the Torak begins blasting the alien flag ships as well. Ramming straight through High Charity and annihilates Reaper Warship.
At the end of the battle Torak fall back because warship X is damaged and disabled along with 80% of the fleet from a combine fire of the entire armada, humans lose 90 % of fleet and retreat back to home system, the remaining ISA fleet which consists of: Eldar , Tyranids, bugs from starship trooper, aliens from monsters vs aliens, Prawns, predators, cylons from battlestar galactica, limp on to the Torak homeworld. Aliens from Monsters V Aliens, Prawns, Predators, and cyclone ships are all EMP’d by Warship Z, half are turned to canines and the other half are boarded and apprehended. The Eldar, Trynids, and bugs are intercepted by warship Y, the Apes, and the Oceanan fleet before they arrive at the planet, where they are infected by the apes almost immediately. After this battle the covenant mainly focus on killing the humans and it is as if the human war with the covenant is entirely separate.
A very important year for the United Nations Space Command, as this marked the initiation of the SPARTAN-II program, which would eventually give birth to some of humanity's greatest heroes.

August 17: Dr. Catherine Halsey and Lieutenant Jacob Keyes meet 6-year-old John on Eridanus II. John passes a test conducted by Halsey and is unknowingly accepted into the SPARTAN-II program.[2]

Insurrectionists hit the luxury liner National Holiday above Reach, detonating explosives against its hull. The ship plummets into Reach's atmosphere, burning up via re-entry.
The Office of Naval Intelligence manages to portray it as a tragic accident to the public.[5]
June 16: Staff Sergeants Nolan Byrne and Avery Johnson lead two four-man teams on a raid in the city of Casbah on Tribute to find rebel bombs.[6] The assault is part of Operation: TREBUCHET.
August 7: Marcille Johnson passes away.[7]
August 10: Johnson arrives in Chicago, URNA, after the botched operation on Tribute. He goes to visit his aunt Marcille, only to find that she had passed away three days ago. In grief, he goes on a drinking spree. Eventually, he is found by Lieutenant Downs.[8]
August 13: Johnson is transferred to Harvest to train the local militia.
September 2: The freighter Horn of Plenty emerges from Slipspace in error, courtesy of a radiation leak, and sends out a distress beacon. The beacon is futile, however, as the ship being attacked and captured by a Covenant vessel.[9]
September 3: Horn of Plentys navigation box is retrieved by Covenant forces and its contents are analyzed by the Huragok Lighter Than Some. Lighter Than Some finds the vessel's point of origin. The Covenant ship, Minor Transgression, heads off to obtain more spoils.[10]
September 16: Horn of Plenty's signal reaches Harvest, being received by the Artificial intelligence Sif.[11]
December 21: The UNSC Two for Flinching, carrying Staff Sergeant Johnson and many others, arrives in the Epsilon Indi System.[12] Simultaneously, ONI operative Jilan al-Cygni is briefed by the AIs Sif and Mack.[13]
Late December: The Prophet of Restraint impregnates a female San 'Shyuum, despite his defective genes making it illegal for him to reproduce. With the mother refusing an abortion, a scandal starts brewing over the issue.[14]
Minor Transgression's crew launches a raid on the freighter This End Up, killing its captain, Henry Gibson. A while later, Sif reports the attack to al-Cygni, both realizing that it was the only ship in the area with a human crew.

Humanity comes into contact with the Covenant for the second time.
The Ninth Age of Reclamation begins with the ascension of the High Prophets of Truth, Mercy and Regret. They declare that the Human race destroyed a vast Forerunner reliquary and are therefore to be exterminated, starting the Human-Covenant war.[1]
Antonio Silva is assigned to command an ODST platoon on board the UNSC Atlas.[2]
Biko is glassed by the Covenant sometime during this year.[3]

Staff Sergeants Avery Johnson and Nolan Byrne, along with Captain Ponder, begin training Harvest's Colonial Militia.[5]

The militia goes on another march, this time with 25 kg rucksacks. In the aftermath, Johnson and Ponder attend Harvest's Solstice Celebration. Johnson is briefed by Jilan al-Cygni as to why he and Byrne are here; to prevent Insurrectionist attacks on UNSC freighters.[6]

The Kig-Yar vessel Minor Transgression attacks another human agricultural vessel, the Bulk Discount, unaware it is an sting operation supported by the UNSC Walk of Shame.[7]
Colonial Militia trainees Wallace A. Jenkins, Forsell, Wick and Andersen begin target practice.[8]
The Ministry of Fortitude holds a logistics meeting. The Minister of Fortitude utilizes recreational stimulants to aid him through the ordeal.[9]

Fortitude wakes up, the hangover effect of the stimulants taking hold. The Vice Minister of Tranquility alerts him to the Luminary detections made by Minor Transgression. They resolve to use them to usher in an Age of Reclamation and secure their position as the next trio of Hierarchs.[10]
Walk of Shame is dispatched to Reach to request that FLEETCOM send a battle group in the event of first contact escalating into bloodshed.[11]

Johnson regains consciousness and is debriefed by Nils Thune and al-Cygni. Johnson resolves to accelerate the militia's training.[12]

Harvest's Tiara makes long-range radar contact with the Covenant cruiser Rapid Conversion. Contact is lost with Harvest soon after.

First formal contact between the Covenant and humans on Harvest. Communications go awry and the Human-Covenant war begins.[13]

Mack detects the UNSC Argo in orbit and attempts to make contact to warn it off; he fails to warn the Argo in time and it is destroyed.[18]

Preston Cole's liver fails from cirrhosis, and is subsequently replaced - as are his damaged heart and endocrine system - with flash-cloned transplants.[20]

Mack begins burying the maglev strands of the Tiara.[21]

Battlegroup 4, composed of the CMA Heracles, the CMA Arabia and the CMA Vostok enters the Epsilon Indi system and make contact with a Covenant ship. The Covenant ship destroys the Vostok and the Arabia with only the badly damaged Heracles escaping.[22]
The Covenant ship broadcasts the following message: "Your destruction is the will of the Gods...and we are their instrument" in complete English, showing that the Covenant have been studying Humanity for some time.[23]

SPARTAN-IIs train with MJOLNIR armor in the Reach UNSC Military Complex. Dr. Halsey determines the soldiers are ready for their first mission.[24]

Within the UNSC Damascus Materials Testing Facility, the SPARTAN-IIs are introduced and fitted with the MJOLNIR Mk. IV armor.[32]
The SPARTAN-IIs board the Covenant ship. They plant explosives at the ship's reactor and detonate them, destroying the ship.[33]

Torak are appalled and refuse in rage.
February 13: The Covenant Empire glasses Bliss.[1]
March 1: Preston Cole's Fleet reaches Harvest and the Second Battle of Harvest begins. It is a human victory, but at an enormous cost. However, the Covenant also claim victory and celebrate through fasting and prayer. The Prophet of Regret televises the executions of "those who failed their duty" at the battle. The Covenant would return to Harvest later in the year, and the UNSC would respond. This led to a five-year long series of engagements on the planet, known by the UNSC as the Harvest Campaign.
March 10: The WINTER CONTINGENCY protocol is enacted by the UNSC.[2]
April 26: The Battle of Circinius IV takes place in the Circinius system.[3]
April 27: The Covenant glasses Circinius IV.

Spartan-II Soren-066 is assigned to a supposedly temporary desk job on Reach. It is here that he meets Partch, an Insurrectionist who will eventually change Soren's allegiances.[4]

Apes and Torak take the ships and men that they have converted to canines and apes to guard the planet further. “This was barely even a victory, to lose so much and gain so little from a dispute that could have and should have been avoided by a race of fools is a travesty.” Says Hierarch Julius Amedayus of the Torak.
Construction Platform 966A is decommissioned and abandoned.
Madrigal is glassed by the Covenant. Survivors flee to a set of asteroids in orbit above Hesiod, dubbing the worldlets The Rubble.

2529 A.D Humans invade as many Torak planets as possible/ask for Collective military protection. They do this by hiring many nonhuman mercenaries as they are still primarily engaged with the covenant. The humans send out a message saying that anyone who take control of an Torak planet in the name of the humans will be paid handsomely, this in effect authorizes many Torak worlds to revolt. The Humans also engage Heated fleet and launches bio-missile at Torak homeworld.
Photojournalist Jake Courage wins the International War Photography Prize for Screams in Space.[1]
Eric Santiago awakens from a five-year coma and enlists in the UNSC Navy as a Pilot.
