In the latest poll, The Black Arrow tied with Wuthering Heights, so we will begin The Black Arrow after Wuthering Heights is finished. It is conveniently divided into five books, so we will read one per week (including the prologue the first week).

Week 1 (August 15-21): Prologue and Book I, Chapters I-VII
Week 2 (August 22-28): Book II, Chapters I-V
Week 3 (August 29-Sept 5): Book III, Chapters I-VI
Week 4 (Sept 6-12): Book IV, Chapters I-VI
Week 5 (Sept 13-19): Book V, Chapters I-VIII

I will post background information closer to the starting date.

I downloaded my electronic copy from Gutenberg (has images!), but it's available for cheap or free on Amazon as well. Your library might also have an electronic copy.

If you would like to get your hands on a physical book, you might be able to reserve a copy at your library or find it at a used bookstore, online or locally.

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) | 975 comments Interesting choice! This was my favorite book when I was a child (maybe because of the Wyeth illustrations?), but when I reread it as an adult I marveled at what a bloodthirsty monster I was in my youth. Will be interesting to see what people have to say.

Piyangie | 170 comments This was my favourite Stevenson book in my teens. I read it a few years ago just to see how I'd view it as a grown up. And I'm happy that it's still dear to me and still my favourite Stevenson. I'd love to see what others think about it.

I'll be joining in. I read it 5 years ago and liked it then.

I will read it. I just read (actually listened to) Kidnapped earlier this year and found it a nice change from some plotless modern literary fiction I had been reading.

Looking forward to discussing to book with you all!

Daniela Sorgente | 134 comments I will join you! I downloaded a free copy from Amazon, it is "Stevenson and Wyeth" so I think it is illustrated. I will have to review something about the history of those years!

I'm looking forward to it-just picked up a second hand copy at my local (thankfully open again) used book store.
